Paint Beautiful Acadia

I told you I’d give you the details of my workshop before anyone else gets them:

Dramatic, inspirational Schoodic Peninsula in Maine’s Acadia National Park will be our base for a second year. By popular demand, we have expanded this workshop to two weeks.

This is the quiet side of Acadia, far from the hustle of Bar Harbor, but with the same dramatic rock formations, pounding surf, and stunning mountain views that make Acadia a worldwide tourist destination.

“This was my first art lesson since first grade. I loved Carol’s coaching style and hopefully I will have more opportunities to learn from her in a beautiful setting.” (Loren B.)

The Schoodic Peninsula is more secluded than the main body of the Park; only about 10% of park visitors ever get there. Its main feature is Schoodic Head at 440 feet above sea level.

Open sea, stunning views of Cadillac Mountain and veins of dark basalt running through red granite rocks are the dominant features of this “road less traveled.” Pines, birch, spruce, cedar, cherry, alder, mountain ash, and maples forest the land. There are numerous coves, inlets, islands, and lighthouses.

“This was the best painting instruction I have ever had. Carol’s advice in color mixing was particularly eye-opening. Her explanations are clear and easy to understand. She is very approachable and supportive. I would take this course again in a heartbeat.” (Carol T.)
